How many times does she have to fall?
On her knees she prays, He hears her call

The next morning when she wakes
Her routine she falls into, before day break
In her car, the engine doesn’t start
She thinks it’s too soon in the day for things to fall apart

She passes a homeless man with a sign who asks for change
Just like everyone else, she goes on, doesn’t stop, goes about her day
In line for coffee, she doesn’t see
The lady scraping for change for a hot cup of tea

No please, no thank you, no time for words
She collects her order, she’s got to get to work

One lift is broken, to the 23rd floor she needs to go
Another lift door opens, a man slowly leaves
She pushes through, his slow speed she can’t believe

Goes through her day, lunch, meetings, deadlines – now time to go home
She prays and wonders about the delays
That God let her experience, through this crazy day
Wonders where God was, did He hear her pray?

My sweet child if you had started your car
You would have hit traffic and would have been late by far
My sweet child, remember only I can judge
Everything You do, You do out of love

My sweet child, did I not tell you ‘don’t forget to do good and share with those in need’ (Hebrews 13:16)
That homeless man wanted some money so he could eat
Your busyness stopped you from seeing that lady
She wanted a hot drink, to provide warmth for her and her baby

My sweet child, you didn’t see as the lift doors opened the man waiting to leave
His stick was white, he has no sight, he needed a helping hand in a busy world
The only thing on your mind, was making sure you get to work
You pray to see Me, but won’t open your eyes
I was there throughout your day, right by your side

Remember ‘two are better than one, for they help each other succeed’ (Ecclesiastes 4-9)
So although you don’t see a better world, My sweet child try and believe.
So when there’s a delay, when something is in your way
Stop for a quick second- think and pray

‘Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you’ (Matthew 5:42)

You’re never out of mind nor out of my sight
My sweet child remember and pray ‘though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light’ (Micah 7:8)
